I'm not much of a traveller but I knew that Olivella is one of the famous company from Italy which produces quality products from olive oil. I was very excited when they branched out into cosmetic products. I was expecting the same quality and effectivity from its cosmetics too. Knowing that their products would be made from finest olives, I am ecstatic because we all know the skincare benefits that we women get from olive oils are numerous.

I'm going to share to you my thoughts on Olivella Contour Eye Cream. Lets get acquainted with the product and see its ingredients.

Ingredients: Aqua (water), Glycerin, Sorbitan Olivate, Olea Europaea Oil Unsaponifiables , Malva Sylvestris Extract, Bisabolol, Parfum (fragrance), Lecithin, Citric Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone. Olea Europaea Fruit Oil, Cetearyl Olivate, Hydrogenated Olive Oil, Chamomilla Recutita Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Imidazolidinyl Urea.

It seems to be a bit complicated but I can see that there are several olive oil extracts. Is olive oil an effective ingredient in an eye cream? It does contain potent ingredient for an eye cream like Hyaluronic acid which penetrates the skin and helps in the repair of damaged areas around the eyes. Would it work? Let's read on ladies!

Effective for:

  • Easily absorbed into the skin around eye area
  • 100% formulated with virgin olive oil
  • Free from glutens, parabens, animal fats, and artificial colorants
  • Dermatologically tested

I surely would give this a 5 rating when it comes to moisturizing and smoothening of your skin but is it effective in addressing your other eye problems like dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles? Lets check on it.

  • No FDA approval and no guarantees
  • Content is too small

JEN says: I am a believer of olive oil and will always be. However, I find 2 aspects of this eye cream to be put into consideration. First, if you have lesser eye or skin problems, this is an eye cream that would benefit you because it highly moisturize and smoothen your skin plus it does give your skin the youthful glow that olive oil does.

Secondly, for those with dark circles, wrinkles and other serious eye problems, this would take long time before a plausible result can be seen. Another downside is that when you have allergies on oils, this would become a problem for you. Generally, I love this as I love olive oil although considering other factors for other ladies, I will give it a fair rating. It is for you ladies to decide if you want to give it a try or you can choose Peptides Plus Wrinkle Reverse Creme by Derma E

Lancome Absolue Yeux Premium Bx Advanced Replenishing Eye Cream Review

I am a Lancome lover and have really loved their high quality beauty products. When I was asked to join and witness its product launching, I was estatic! I don't want to be biased so I tried the cream as we were given samples after the product launching. Read on women!

Ingredients: Contains the patented Pro-Xylane Absolue Anti-Aging system and combination of soy, wild yam and brown algae plus barley.

It has a very short list of ingredients plus very much familiar to the eyes and ears. I was really rooting for the effectiveness of the product so here's more of what I have discovered:

Effective for:

  • Sensitive areas around eyes
  • Enhancing skin's elasticity and giving it a healthy glow
  • Nourishing your skin

I love the way this cream is absorbed by the skin. Making it supple and soft after every application plus the it doesn't irritate my eyes. I also like the smell, very classy (the trademark of Lancome).

  • Not effective for all skin type
  • Content is too small

JEN says: My enthusiasm slowly changed to dissapointment, although I still love the beauty products from Lancome but this replenishing eye cream won't get my vote. It did not do anything to my fine lines as well as wrinkles. Such a dissapointment coming from a well respected company. For me, its just another overrated moisturizer in a beautiful packaging. They both fall in the mediocre category like Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Cream.

I was intrigued by its natural ingredient and its pleasant smell when this eye cream was referred to me by my friend. As I always do, I tried it myself before recommending it to my readers and here's a few of what I have found and observed.

Ingredients: Water ,Glycerin, Butylene Glycol,Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Steareth 21, Pentylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Steareth 2, Glyceryl Hydroxystearate,Stearic Acid, Dimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract (Oat),Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Hydrogenated Evening Primrose Oil, Maltodextrin (Maltodextrine), Steareth 20, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Hexylene Glycol, Cucumis Sativa (Cucumber) Fruit Extract (Cucumber),Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil, Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Leaf Extract (Blackberry),Digluconate, Citronellol, Dipeptide 2, Rosa Damascena (Bulgarian Rose) Flower Oil, Rubus Ellipticus Root Extract, Hexapeptide 10, Propyl Gallate, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract (Rosemary), BHT , Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Propylene Glycol,Hydrogenated Polybutene,Capric/Caprylic Stearic Triglyceride,Phenoxyethanol, Stearyl Alcohol,Sodium Polyacrylate, Palmitic Acid,Tetrasodium EDTA, Capric/Caprylic Stearic Triglyceride, Propylene Carbonate, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Acrylates/C10 30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer,Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil (Black Currant),Tromethamine,Adenosine, Caprylyl Glycol,Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Vitamin C), Litchi Chinensis Seed Extract, Retinyl Acetate (Vitamin A), Chlorhexidine,Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Potassium Sorbate,Geraniol, Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide 7,Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Citric Acid, BHT.

That's a mouthful! LOL! The only familiar ingredient is water and the rest are blur so lets dig deeper how this eye cream really works.

Effective for:

  • Strengthening the skin's structure
  • Refining complexion and boosts radiance
  • Keeping the skin flexible and mixed with Lychee to enhance collagen production
  • Minimizing signs of aging for firmer, smoother skin around eyes

Lychee and Black Tea, sounds yummy! Does it make a difference in an eye cream? Is being all natural a guarantee enough that it'll work? Let's know more about it.

  • No FDA approval or clinical testings

JEN says: Many users will be lured by its nice packaging and pleasant smell but for me, Black Tea Age Delay Eye Cream made by Fresh is nothing more than a high powered moisturizer pretending to be an effective anti-aging product. I could describe it as a cocktail of natural herb and seed extracts with a complicated collection of synthetic ingredients. This product claims to effectively refine your complexion and boost the radiance of your skin but doesn't do as stated. I would rather stick to my best eye cream choice.

I know Dr. Brandt skincare items are really good but then not all things works the same way for people. Lets start from a clean slate and look at this product closely, starting from its ingredients:

Ingredients: Water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Lecithin, Methylsilanol Hydroxyproline Aspartate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetyl Palmitate, Siloxanetriol Alginate, C12-16 Alcohols, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetyl Lactate, Octyldodecyl Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Caffeine, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Dimethicone, Bis-Hydroxyethoxypropyl Dimethicone, Palmitic Acid, Polyglyceryl-3 Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Betaine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Acetyl Citrull Amido Arginine, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, BHT, Ascorbic Acid Polypeptide, Retinyl Palmitate, Sodium PCA, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Phospholipids, Ceramide 3, Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract.

Impressed? I am definitely overwhelmed. I don't know which of those listed are effective and which are just for "addition". There are several user testimonies that gives credit to its effectivity like:

Effective for:

  • Works effectively for dark circles
  • Triple peptides ingredient works in improving the skin's appearance
  • Moisturizes eye area
  • Hydrates skin

Wonderful benefits! You would definitely be tempted to purchase this immediately but as I often say, there's another side of each story. Let's see what negatives it could bring to us ladies.

  • May cause irritation for people whose skin type is not suited

JEN says: Panda eyes! I would never want to experience that once again in my life and with Dr. Brandt No More r3p Eye Cream, I definitely would say its definitely a posibility. I like the way this cream sets with my make up plus it has no unpleasant smell that makes me nauseous after putting it on. If your wrinkles, fine lines and other aging problem is not yet worst, grab one now! Although nothing beats my choice for best eye cream, I would definitely give this a thumbs up compared to other pricey eye creams which are just hyped up moisturizers.

  • Stimulating collagen production
  • Relaxing facial muscles
  • Strengthening the delicate skin surrounding the eyes

Does it sound promising? Definitely! Imagine the idea of an anti-aging cream that effectively smoothens wrinkles. YAY! It must be the right one but lets read on to see the other side of the coin.

  • May cause itching and redness in the eyes
  • Must combine with other eye products to maximize results

JEN says: The advantages outweigh the disadvantages right? Now, here are my thoughts about this product. Peptides Plus Wrinkle Reverse Creme by Derma E is a great combination of Argireline and Matrixyl which are two potent peptides proven to work on most users. In my test, it does strengthen the skin around my eyes. It's light and non-greasy making it really easy to be absorbed and works well with my make up. Another good things is the green tea smell. For me, it's a plus. It took about more than 2 months before I fully appreciated the results but no regrets because the price is quite reasonable.
